Types of recommended paper material:
Comparison of 6 types:
- light coated paper
- heavy coated paper
- laminated paper
- tyvek
- polybanner
- textile
Light coated paper (up to 140 g./m2):
Maximum dimension suggested:
70 x 100 cm
Resistance to tension: medium
Durability: low
Price: economical
Our tips: well adapted for small and medium poster sizes. Not recommended for use in crowded public places (for resistance issues). Ideal for aerial suspension or in windows
Heavy coated paper (140 g./m2 et plus):
Maximum dimension suggested:
100 x 160 cm
Resistance to tension: strong
Durability: medium
Price: reasonable
Our tips: adapted for large format displays. Try not to surpass 100 x 160 cm because the weight of the poster may become too important for the springs of the frame and cause your display to be off-centered. For formats larger than 100 x 160 cm, try synthetic supports that combine lightness and resistance
Laminated paper:
Maximum dimension suggested:
100 x 160 cm
Resistance to tension: strong
Durability: long
Price: high
Our tips: use laminated paper if the frame is going to be exposed in a high-traffic area. You can save by asking your printer to use light paper and a thin lamination
Tyvek:
Maximum dimension suggested:
100 x 200 cm
Resistance to tension: strong
Durability: long
Price: high
Our tips: tyvek is a synthetic paper that is both extremely light and resistant. It works well with our products, no matter what size. We suggest you ration your use of backlight because the fibers in the paper are quite visible under light exposure
Polybanner:
Maximum dimension suggested:
100 x 200 cm
Resistance to tension: strong
Durability: long (repeated manipulations may reduce lifespan)
Price: raisonable
Our tips: This paper is light and offers excellent UV-Protection, cannot be ripped, glossy and also water-proof. We recommend it for every size display. The only fall back is that we have observed that black ink does not look strong on this paper. If your printer is not familiar with polybanner, suggest him to boost saturation and ink density for a fantastic result. Polybanner is the most recommanded poster material for use with AFIX products
Tissue or printed textile:
Maximum dimension suggested:
100 x 160 cm
Resistance to tension: strong (but streches may occur)
Durability: long
Price: very high
Our tips: textile can bring great visual results. Depending on which fabric is used, the flexibility varies (for example Lycra is very flexible) It is important to define together the size of the frame and the spring tension to use, to ensure a good fit
IMPORTANTE NOTE:
The AFIX frame support a large variety of papers and synthetic supports of many different sizes and weights

Certain qualities are expected from paper materials, for best harmony with our poster displaying system:

- Lightness: our lightweight supports have a certain airy quality, thus it?s not necessary to use very heavy paper, except for two-sided or large format-posters
- Resistance to tension: your display will be hanging from the four corners of the frame. For small dimensions, any type of paper can be used (light paper, photo paper, thick paper...), thus its is recommended that you use a resistant support when the dimension of the poster exceeds 70 x 100 cm
